‘Making the Invisible, Visible’ brought together a group of 12 brain injury survivors from Acquired Brain Injury Ireland's Wexford services, who spent a year engaging with a variety of creative art forms to tell their stories. Focusing on the theme of the five senses, the participants used clay, mosaics, music and olfactory art to create art works that reflected their lived experiences. The work took place through a series of "creative cafes", led by local artists and facilitators, that aimed to create a sense of community and belonging. The project culminated in an exhibition of the participants' artworks, which was opened by President of Ireland, Catherine Connolly, in March 2026. 'Making the Invisible, Visible' was funded by the Alzheimer's Association, the Alzheimer Society and the Global Brain Health Institute.
