Gravis: Better Than Sound Blaster, and That's Why It Died

You paid extra for the best sound card on the market, loaded a game, and watched it announce that it was now pretending to be a cheaper one. The Gravis Ultrasound played real recorded instruments out of its own memory while the Sound Blaster was still faking them with FM synthesis. The demoscene wrote for it. DOS games did not.
