Will anyone be able to best Dwight’s perfect, 26-point run from Episode 5? Well, we’ve got three new challengers who aim to try. Welcome to Season 2, Episode 7 of the La Perla Challenge, our long-range precision marksmanship competition filmed on a controlled private target course at La Perla Ranch in South Texas. Dwight currently sits at the top of the Season 2 leaderboard after racking up 26 points in an incredible three minute, eight second run in Episode 5. Today, three new competitors are going to have to make a perfect run and do it faster than Dwight did in order to take that top spot. We’ve got Doug, Miguel, and Aaron here to try the La Perla Challenge this week. Miguel and Aaron both shot the challenge last year but are back to give it a try with some new equipment. These guys come with varying levels of experience but are all going to be trying their best to outshoot Dwight. Each competitor has four minutes and 10 attempts to engage steel targets positioned from 676 to 1,776 yards. With limited opportunities, changing wind conditions and high-value bonus targets available, every decision can determine the final score. This episode follows one of the most memorable performances in La Perla Challenge history. Watch through the final competitor to see who rises to the occasion and where everyone finishes on the Season 2 leaderboard. THE SEASON 2 COURSE Each competitor has: • Four minutes • 10 attempts • Four primary targets that must be engaged in order • The opportunity to use remaining attempts on additional scoring targets PRIMARY TARGETS Deer — 1,061 yards Coyote — 725 yards Blackbuck — 1,168 yards Bobcat — 689 yards A first-attempt impact earns 2 points. A second-attempt impact earns 1 point. After an impact or two misses, the competitor advances to the next target. BONUS TARGETS After completing the primary course, competitors may use their remaining attempts to re-engage previous targets or attempt one of two high-value bonus challenges: The Yeti — 1,776 yards The 3-inch Armadillo — 676 yards Each bonus-target impact earns 3 points. Would you choose the extreme distance of the one-mile Yeti or the tiny 3-inch Armadillo? Tell us in the comments.
