3 months into job hunting in Finland as a foreigner, here is the realistic 3-month update. Scoreboard so far: 16 job applications sent, 4 interviews, and 0 offers yet. But the biggest surprise? Grey Job market in Finland exists. And people are finding jobs in Finland's "grey" hidden job market, not traditional job boards like LinkedIn or Duunitori. While Finland has faced high unemployment in the EU (easing slightly to ~9.9% as of August 2026 from 12% earlier this year), navigating the Finnish job market as an expat or international worker requires a completely different approach.
