Hildegard von Bingen (1098-1179) - O virtus sapientiae | Sophia Schambeck -Double Recorder

For me, Hildegard von Bingen is one of the most inspiring women of the Middle Ages. She was not only an abbess and advisor to historical figures, such as the Pope at the time, but also a poet, polymath and composer. Her work was preserved in the so-called Riesencodex, which was probably written during her lifetime. I have added a simple second voice (vox organalis) to the melody of “O virtus sapientiae”, which is notated in diastematic neumes.
