Shovana Narayan: I have learned time management from my mother

Shovana Narayan speaks about her childhood and interest in dancing. She says, "I was born in Kolkata because my father was posted there at the time of my birth. After my birth, we stayed in Bombay for 4 to 5 years and then we shifted to Delhi and we are staying in Delhi since 1963. I got married in Austria, my husband in an Austrian. My mother was in social services and politics and my father was a civil servant. My parents were very strict about my studies and dancing and singing. My mother took me to Sadhna Bose's house. Sadhna Bose was very famous dancer and actress at that time and was a granddaughter of Keshav Chandra Sen. I was in the field of dancing from the age of 4 years and professionally from past 30 years and now it has become a part of my life. When we shifted to Bombay from Kolkata then I learned dancing from Guru Kundan Lal and in Delhi, I became a student of Birju Maharaj. My mother taught me how to manage time and how to utilize a day practicing dance and studies both."
