Gran Turismo 7 Has A Meta Problem — And I Have The Receipts

Every GT7 player is a car lover. That's why we're here. So why does the leaderboard say we're all driving the same thing? I scraped every recorded entry from this week's Daily Races — not a sample, not a poll, every single lap time on the official boards — and counted what car each one used. The results are worse than I expected. DAILY RACE B (Gr.4) Top 100 ......... 100% Hyundai Elantra N TC Top 1,000 ....... 99.7% Hyundai Elantra N TC Top 10,000 ...... 91.0% Hyundai Elantra N TC DAILY RACE C (Gr.3) Top 100 ......... 97.0% Hyundai Genesis Gr.3 Top 1,000 ....... 94.0% Hyundai Genesis Gr.3 Top 10,000 ...... 72.9% Hyundai Genesis Gr.3 One person in the entire top 1,000 of Race B drove something else. One. And in Race C, all 43 other cars in the top 10,000 combined still can't match the Genesis on their own. Race A was a genuine one-make this week. Race B and C weren't — they just ended up that way. This isn't players picking a favourite. It's Balance of Performance telling you there's one answer, and everyone who wants to be competitive finding it.
