The European Medieval Festival or Middelalderfestival is an annual event held in late August in Horsens, Denmark at the former state prison, "FÆNGSLET". The festival transforms the place into a medieval experience. It features large market with food and crafts, live jousting tournaments, music, and living history demonstrations.
