You can see they’re getting braver, look at that one flapping its wings in the water! Bathing is super important, especially now during molting when they’re shedding those old feathers like crazy. Molting can make pigeons a bit uncomfortable, with all that itching and new feathers poking through. That’s why two baths a week are a game-changer, it keeps their skin hydrated, washes away loose feathers, and helps those new pin feathers grow in smoothly. Plus, it’s like a mini spa day for them, and who doesn’t love a happy, clean pigeon? Fun fact: Did you know pigeons use their beaks to spread natural oils from their preen gland during bath time? It’s like their own built-in conditioner for shiny feathers! If you’re caring for pigeons, always use a shallow dish for baths, about an inch deep is perfect, and change the water daily to keep it fresh. Twice-weekly baths during molting will keep your flock looking fabulous!
