Diving the SS Carnatic at Sha’ab Abu Nuhas in the Red Sea, Egypt.
Join the divers for an unhurried exploration of this historic shipwreck, from its coral-covered beams to the open framework of its hull.
In September 1869, the Carnatic struck the reef while sailing from Suez to Bombay. After remaining aground, the passenger steamer broke in two and sank. Over time, its wooden structures rotted away, leaving the exposed metal skeleton that divers explore today.
Footage from our family diving archive — a glimpse of the history resting beneath the Red Sea.
