In this video I'll go over how I installed a spare tire for my 2017 Chevy Bolt. The Bolt doesn't come with a spare. You can purchase a inflation/sealant kit from GM, but this will not help if you get serious damage to your tire out on the road. The spare, jack and lug wrench can be found at a salvage yard. Update: some viewers have commented that you can fit a full sized rim with tire in the under-shelf space. This will eliminate the need to rotate tires if your flat is on the front. WARNING: If you have a flat on one of the front wheels, and a donut spare, you MUST rotate one of the rear wheels to the front, and use the donut spare in the rear. Otherwise, you may damage the drive unit using an undersized wheel in front. I will make a seperate video on changing the tire. Spare tire (donut): Chevy Cruze or Sonic Scissor jack, lug wrench: Chevy Cruze, Blazer (I got mine from a Blazer, as that was the only one I could find.) My total cost for spare, jack, and lug wrench- about $25.00 Threaded rod (all-thread) Metric M-8 x1.25mm. Cut to 10-3/4" (or 5/16" all thread and tap to 5/16"x 18 tpi) Threaded knob (metric or 5/16")
