I Was Only Supposed to Fix These Two Macintosh Boards…

Two Macintosh IIsi logic boards, a pile of missing capacitors, torn traces, damaged resistors — and a repair that somehow ended with me fixing my own IIsi as well. In this video I recap both boards, repair lifted pads and broken traces, reconstruct a damaged via with enamelled wire, replace a few casualties from an enthusiastic capacitor removal, and finally find out whether either board still boots. Along the way, I also take apart my own Macintosh IIsi and show some of the upgrades hiding inside it: 64 MB of RAM from SIMMs I built myself, a Formac ProNitron 24-bit NuBus graphics card, BlueSCSI storage, and an early CayMac PicoPSU replacement board with my own relay modification to preserve the original switched monitor output. The IIsi was Apple's more affordable entry into the Macintosh II family — so stuffing one with 64 MB of RAM and 24-bit graphics may be slightly missing the point. But that's part of the fun.
