Polar Winaire’ 48” ceiling fan, shown on a dimmer-type variable speed wall control. After receiving amazing positive feedback from everyone from my recent “Some Vintage Ceiling Fans” post, I decided to start putting out the couple of them I’ve filmed. This is one of three of these I will be showing you. Overall, decent condition - not good, not bad I would say. Cosmetically it definitely needs some work, since the blades show signs of paint loss, the motor is covered in small spots of corrosion and scratches, the canopies are starting to develop minor cracks, mainly due to the degradation of the plastic after being installed for several decades. Operationally this fan definitely takes the crown, absolutely flawless as it could be. Airflow is solid, thick and provides a decent spread. A little bearing scratch, but otherwise silky smooth as seen by its amazingly long spindown time. It’s just an overall very well built fan, super high quality for its time period. It does have the 14 pole motor which pretty much every other Polar made ceiling fan of its era had. Much better than what they do these days; it is painful to watch a reputed manufacturer stoop down to bad quality. Technical Specifications: Fan Size: 1200 mm (48”) Power Consumption: 68 watts Speed: 360 RPM (revolutions per minute) Airflow: 8122 CFM Rated Voltage: 230V Frequency: 50 Hz Year of Manufacturing: 1994 Thanks for watching, enjoy!
