Installing Carpet in My Karmann Ghia — It’s Not That Simple

Episode 10 of the 1964 Karmann Ghia restoration series. In this episode, I install a carpet kit in my 1964 Karmann Ghia after completing the floor rebuild. What started as a simple carpet replacement turned into something much bigger — and fitting the carpet turned out to be more involved than expected. The kit fits where it’s meant to, but every opening needs to be cut, shaped, and finished properly. I walk through how I set up a centreline, create templates, and deal with edges that can fray if you’re not careful. I also look at underlay options, what works, and what doesn’t, as the interior starts coming back together.
