That’s how the Brit duo behind posi anthems “Keep It Up” and “Home,” actually met. Both had found plenty of success as solo artists. Oli had opened for Sigrid; Scott made a name for himself in the London indie scene under the moniker kwassa (shoutout Vampire Weekend). But when they ended up living adjacent to each other, like every great relationship, they unlocked and elevated one another. United by their love of MGMT, Passion Pit, and A24 films, the duo harness the sounds of the Indie Golden Era to make coming-of-age earworms. The prime example is “Home,” which would sound right at home on an ’09 iPod Nano. It’s one the most-streamed debut singles of the year, grabbing more than 270 million streams and charting in a dozen countries.
