Yaesu FT-891 CW POTA Activation at US-7145 Minnesota Valley State Recreation Area (8/27/2026)

QSO chapters in the description ... The sun was starting to set as the new UTC day approached and I wrapped up a SSB Activation. It was such a nice evening that I repositioned the equipment and switched over to CW for another round of fun. I never expected to start the activation with Spain or to pickup Puerto Rico and Alaska all in one sitting. Band conditions were certainly working in my favor. I ran a 17' Alpha Antenna whip using a jaw mount on one of the picnic area fire rings and paired it with the Yaesu FT-891 and VK3IL pressure paddles for the CW portion of the evening. It was nice to log another 34 CW contacts for the park.
