E10: TRUCK STUCK IN MUD DOWN TO THE AXLES!!!

DISASTER In what i can only describe as a momentary lapse in concentration, having climbed a mountain earlier in the day and not eaten, I reversed off solid ground into a venus fly trap of a bog Long story short; the truck quickly became bogged all the way down to the rear axle, as well as the rear diff/anti roll bar/transfer box and even the prop shaft sitting in mud Can you imagine the fear that went through me, as i first shuffled under the back of the truck with a head torch, grabbing on my dads old truck jack, to see evrything buried and thinking how the hell we were going to get out!!! In hindsight; (but feel free to leave the usual "you are an idiot and you dont know what you are doing etc etc), I realised that I reversed over the mud banking which was completely in my rear blind spot, and it immediately snagged the rear diff. I should have not been lazy at investigated how bad it was before engaging 4wd and trying to drive out, as i would have seen it was already game over and i was only going to make it worse. But i was tired from a big mountain climb and coulndt see the issue as the ridge of mud was sat only under the legnth of the truck. Awww well! We live and learn... The hard way!Because boy this was hard graft!
