Gerd Müller scores his first goals for Germany — not just one or two, but 4 in one game! It was only Müller's second ever international game (his debut came a year before against Turkey) — and the future Der Bomber did everything to convince the nation that they won't miss Uwe Seeler all that much. Funnily enough, despite the incredibly convincing win against Albania that set them up for a good qualification campaign, they failed to qualify to the tournament in the end... after failing to beat Albania at home (a game known as "Die Sieger von Tirana" in a return fixture with Gerd Müller, surprisingly, being left on the bench.
