Painting StarCraft Marines as Confederate Mercenaries | StarCraft: The Miniatures Game

Painting StarCraft: The Miniatures Game Terran Marines, but with a classic StarCraft 1 twist! In this video, I'm painting three Terran Marines as Confederate remnants turned mercenaries, using paint schemes inspired by the original StarCraft game, StarCraft cinematics, General Edmund Duke, and the legendary WarPig. One of my favorite things about the original StarCraft Terrans was the variety in their armor. Even though they belonged to the same faction, individual Marines could have completely different colors, markings, insignia, and battle-worn personalities. For this project, I wanted to bring that feeling back to my StarCraft TMG miniatures. 🎨 The three Terran Marine paint schemes: • Confederacy-inspired white Marine — inspired by the Terran Confederacy seen in the classic StarCraft cinematics • General Edmund Duke-inspired Marine — a blue, red, and silver color scheme based on Duke's iconic armor • War Pig Marine — the classic StarCraft 1 mercenary scheme featuring brass, black, and red armor Along the way, I'll also show my process for: 🖌️ Painting miniature faces 🖌️ Painting Terran Marine armor 🖌️ Creating tiny faction markings and rank insignia 🖌️ Painting the Confederate flag 🖌️ Painting Marine weapons and rocket launchers 🖌️ Creating highlights with layered colors 🖌️ Painting reflective black visors 🖌️ Creating classic StarCraft 1-style grass bases 🖌️ Adding a little weathering to finish everything off I'm using a mix of Games Workshop Citadel paints, along with metallics from Army Painter, washes, drybrushing, and good old-fashioned tiny brushwork.
