The last time I visited Dovedale was 2011, so it was about time I went back and re-explored the area. In this video I arrive at sunrise to be faced with mist rolling through the valley. The best view of this would be from the top of Thorpe Cloud. However that is a 40 minute plus slippery walk up and it's a big up, an elevation of 287m. Seeing as mist does not hang around for long, I hand launched my drone and captured both video and panoramic stills, which turned out to be a wise decision. Afterwards I did climb up Thorpe cloud, and as predicted by the time I reached the summit the mist was dispersing. So without the use of the drone I would have missed the mist. For the rest of the video I assess compositions whilst walking to Milldale where I take some final shots. The video should give you an overview of what is available to photograph if you pay Dovedale a visit. I hope you enjoy the video.
