Affinity’s September 2026 update introduces the brand-new Blend Tool and it’s much more powerful than simply creating shapes between two objects. In this quick walkthrough we will take a deep dive in the new Blend Tool, and try to cover as much of all the settings. • How to create a Blend Group • Steps vs Distance blending • Rotation and curve blending options • Line and curve mapping controls • RGB, CMYK and HSL color transitions • Distribution Bias and easing • Separate bias controls for position, rotation, shape and color • Editing the blend path with Bézier curves • Start and end offsets • Curve Mapping and interpolation • Using custom shapes as blend paths • Adding multiple paths to a single Blend Group • Path Follow options • Multiple transitions inside one Blend Group One of the best things about Affinity’s implementation is that blends remain completely live. Move, rotate, resize or recolor the original objects and the entire blend automatically updates. You can even drop custom shapes into the Blend Group and use them as paths, opening up some really interesting possibilities for illustrations, typography, patterns and abstract artwork. The Blend Tool has been a highly requested feature, and Affinity has implemented it with a surprising amount of flexibility and control. If you’re using the latest version of Affinity, this is definitely a tool worth learning. #Affinity #AffinityDesigner #BlendTool #VectorDesign #GraphicDesign #AffinityTutorial
