2026 Outstanding Educator Award | Linda Rose

Congratulations to Linda Rose, recipient of the 2026 Outstanding Educator Award! The Outstanding Educator Award recognizes an educator who exemplifies excellence in teaching, leadership, innovation, and a lasting commitment to student success. It honors individuals who inspire others through their passion for education, create meaningful opportunities for students, and make a positive impact both inside and outside the classroom. For more than 17 years, Linda has inspired children and families throughout Seneca County as Naturalist and Preschool Coordinator for the Seneca County Park District. After beginning her career as a registered nurse, she followed her passion for environmental education and transformed a vision into reality by creating Out & About Preschool, one of the nation's first nature based outdoor preschool programs. Since welcoming her first class in 2007, she has helped hundreds of young children build confidence, curiosity, problem solving skills, and a lifelong appreciation for the outdoors through hands on exploration. In addition to leading the preschool program, Linda has developed countless educational programs that have introduced children, families, schools, and community members to the wonders of nature. Whether guiding hikes, teaching about wildlife, or encouraging people to slow down and explore the world around them, her enthusiasm and childlike sense of wonder have inspired generations of learners. As shared throughout this tribute, Linda has become a true nature icon in Seneca County. Her patience, kindness, creativity, and unwavering commitment to helping children learn beyond the walls of a traditional classroom have left a lasting impact on thousands of students and families. Congratulations, Linda Rose, and thank you for your extraordinary dedication to education. Your passion has shaped countless lives and made Seneca County a better place for generations to come.
