Pieces of Finland: Kilpisjärvi

Driving through the Finnish village Kilpisjärvi to the customs control near the Norwegian border. Kilpisjärvi is located appoximately 475 meters / 1558 feet above sea level, and the landscape consists mainly of alpine tundra. Large parts of the area is included in the Malla Strict Nature Reserve - a conservation area established in 1938. The caracteristic mountain seen in this video is Saana, which was historically considered sacred to the Sámi people. September 30, 2022.
