Could GTA real estate prices fall back to 2017 levels? In this September 2026 GTA housing market update, I break down the latest TRREB numbers and compare ten Septembers to see which markets may be closer to a bottom—and which could still have further to fall. Fewer listings might sound like a recovery. But when sales are also weak, the relationship between supply and demand tells a different story. Using September 2017 as a baseline, I compare home sales, new listings, active inventory, sales-to-new-listings ratios, months of inventory, and average prices across Toronto, Durham, York, Peel, and Halton.
