It is the story of every person who keeps repeating the same patterns, sabotages their relationships, fears change, or feels that no matter how hard they try, they can never truly “make it home.” In this video, we explore The Odyssey through the lens of Carl Jung’s analytical psychology and the concept of the Shadow. We’ll discover why the Cyclops, the Sirens, Circe, and Calypso are not merely mythical creatures, but psychological symbols that continue to shape our lives thousands of years later. In this video, we’ll explore: Why Odysseus delays his return to Ithaca Why we repeat the same patterns in our relationships and throughout our lives Why the Sirens symbolize our longing to be completely understood What Circe and Calypso represent in our psychological lives And what it truly means to return to your own Ithaca This is not a video about Greek mythology. It is a video about human psychology. Because perhaps Homer, nearly three thousand years ago, described the very same unconscious patterns that Carl Jung would later call the Shadow, Individuation, and the journey toward the Self. If something in this journey resonated with you, let me know in the comments: What is the “monster” that continues to keep you from reaching your own Ithaca?
