IG631 I added Carplay to my 2015 Mercedes GLK

Full CarPlay retrofit install on my 2015 GLK350 using a wireless integration kit from GTA Car Kits. Walking through the whole process: popping the dash trim, pulling the head unit (two Torx screws with a release-arm design that took a minute to figure out), setting the dip switches on the interface box for a GLK-specific configuration, and dealing with the factory MOST fiber optic plug - you pop the fiber connector out of the factory harness rather than cutting into it, which keeps everything reversible. The kit gives you both wireless and wired CarPlay plus Android Auto, and I tested both - wireless paired instantly over Bluetooth, wired worked the moment I plugged in over USB. While I had the dash open I also ran a wire for my radar detector's mute button so it sits in a reachable spot near the new USB port, tucked in behind the airbag safely. Everything went back together clean - factory-look radio face, same controls, no console damage - and the backup camera and all my existing functions still work fine afterward. This is a genuinely reversible, plug-and-play retrofit if you're dealing with an older Mercedes that never got factory CarPlay. No coding needed on my car, and I didn't run into a single issue after reassembly.
