What Goliath Waited Too Late to Learn by Dr. Rod Mattoon

1 Samuel 17:51- Therefore David ran, and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword, and drew it out of the sheath thereof, and slew him, and cut off his head therewith. And when the Philistines saw their champion was dead, they fled. Goliath has fallen in battle, and David took the giant’s sword and cut off his head. That event provides some important lessons for us that we can use and apply right now in our lives. In this message we look at “What Goliath Waited Too Late to Learn”. There are five key areas we will address. We spend time on each point. What we want to do is learn from this man’s failure and not make the same mistake that he made. We look at these five truths: 1. Goliath waited too late to learn that God is not limited by what someone lacks. 2. Goliath waited too late to learn that you do not wait for perfect conditions to act. 3. Goliath waited too late to learn that God can use what He has already placed in his servant's hand. 4. Goliath waited too late to learn that God's people are to finish what He has started in their lives. 5. Goliath waited too late to learn that God can turn His enemy's strength into a tool for his servants. This message was preached on Wednesday night, September 16, 2026, at Lincoln Land Baptist Church.
