Welcome to my origami channel! Today, I am sharing a highly challenging yet incredibly classic creation: the Golden Retriever, designed by the world-renowned origami master, Satoshi Kamiya. In this video, I will follow the master's tutorial step-by-step, starting from the initial crease pre-folding to bringing this lifelike Golden Retriever to life. Throughout the folding process, I will also share my personal insights on shaping, especially how to make the paper capture the form of the dog. According to the origami tutorial, this model was originally designed for the 6th "TV Champion" Origami King Tournament. During the competition, participants had to quickly select a dog from a cage and fold it. This type of improvisation was extremely demanding, requiring competitors to flexibly apply existing dog bases and adjust proportions and details based on the specific dog caught.
