Nobody Ever Reported Him Missing — The Lake Mead Barrel Man Has a Name

Nobody ever reported him missing. Not once, in more than forty years. So when drought dropped Lake Mead and a rusted barrel surfaced in the mud on May 1, 2022, investigators had a homicide — a man shot once in the head, sealed in a 55-gallon barrel, his death dated by his clothing to somewhere between the mid-1970s and early 1980s — but no name, and no missing person report to match him against. Ever. On October 15, 2026, the Clark County coroner finally named him: Edward Lelburian "Buddy" Jackson, a traveller from Hot Springs, Arkansas, in his mid-to-late 50s when he was killed. This Pulse Cast investigation follows the four-year road to that name — the FBI facial reconstructions nobody recognised, the DNA databases that could not match a man who existed on only one side of the system, the first genetic genealogy lead that came back too weak, and the Oklahoma State University forensic team and a relative's DNA that finally confirmed him. It also puts the speculation on the record: Las Vegas homicide Lt. Robert Price stated this month that police have NO information supporting the long-running organised-crime theories — and that the case "will never be closed until we solve it." There is no named suspect and no arrest. The identification is the beginning of this investigation, not its end. All facts are drawn from the sources below and were cross-checked against at least two reliable sources on October 23, 2026. Jackson's early-1980s Salt Lake City charges (aggravated arson, conspiracy to commit fraud) are part of his documented record; no investigator has publicly linked them to his death, and this video does not either. The mob connection is presented strictly as speculation that police say is unsupported by any information in their investigation. This is an original retelling — no script or footage was taken from any other creator.
