The Weald Way - The Walk that took the skin off my toes Join me on day two of this multi-day walk. Experience scenic coastal paths and rolling hills as we explore these trails. This week I joined a mate for a bit of a long walk. The Weald way is typically a 5 day coast to coast walk from Gravesend in Kent to Eastbourne in East Sussex. But As I didn’t have time for the full distance I joined at Uckfield for the last 2 day stretch to Eastbourne. The scenery is as you might image, perfect quintessential English countryside with rolling hills, pretty villages, History and of course quirky features carved into the chalk hillside. The Long Man of Wilmington is one of those images you know, even if you’ve never seen it, somehow it seems to get inside your head subconsciously, but to see it in real life is a very different thing. The rolling hills eventually reveal the South Downs with the added bonus of seeing your destination in the distance, the sea and Eastbourne pier. This 55km walk over 2 days was truly spectacular, however being a little out of practice means my feet suffered a bit but that’s all just part of the fun. I admit I was very happy to reach the end and the very cold beer that awaited along with a fun chocolate medal presented to me by a welcome party. Thanks guys. If you ever find the need to know the exact birthplace of the banoffee pie, you know exactly where to go. I hope you found that interesting. If you fancy buying me a coffee, I’d love a Large Latte thingy, or whatever they have in the pot, link below https://ko-fi.com/scuzzylondon Or https://buymeacoffee.com/jscuzzylondon Subscribe for weekly hiking guides and route breakdowns.
