Raw, personal and unapologetic, “Problem Child” finds Pariah turning his own experiences into a reflection on navigating life’s highs and lows. The song also brings his relationship with DENM full circle, revisiting one of the first beats the pair worked on together when they initially began collaborating. “‘Problem Child’ was actually one of the first beats DENM had me get on when we first started hanging out. “I made a song to it, but something felt weird in my head and I didn’t like it, so we put it away for years. He pulled the beat back out maybe six or seven months ago and was like, ‘Let’s just redo it.’ I sat down for maybe 10 or 15 minutes, rewrote some verses and the thing hit way harder. Now the lyrics could keep up with the beat he made.” - Jesse James Pariah
