Today I’m trying one of London’s most iconic afternoon teas – The Langham. Opened in 1865, The Langham is widely regarded as the first hotel to serve afternoon tea commercially, helping turn what was once a private tradition into the luxury experience we know today. Set in the beautiful Palm Court, this is one of the most famous afternoon tea venues in the world. But does the original still live up to the hype? From delicate finger sandwiches and beautifully presented pastries to warm scones served right at the end – something I wasn’t expecting – this was a really interesting experience. The Langham does things slightly differently, and I wanted to see whether that actually improves the whole afternoon tea experience.
