Faith, tradition and community spirit filled Bandra on Sunday, 19 July 2026, as Archbishop John Rodrigues received a ceremonial welcome ahead of the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
The procession began at Jeff Caterers Junction—where Waroda Road, Bazaar Road and Chapel Road meet beside the neighbourhood’s main community cross. Continuing a cherished parish tradition, the Archbishop was escorted along Chapel Road to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in a decorated horse-drawn carriage, led by a traditional East Indian band.
Residents gathered along the street and watched from their homes as Archbishop Rodrigues smiled and waved to them before arriving at the church. Following the Solemn Feast Mass, the band performed once again as parishioners danced joyfully, bringing the celebration to a spirited close.
