2027 Land Rover Defender Sport SPOTTED Testing at the Nürburgring!

The new Land Rover “Baby Defender” has been spotted testing at the Nürburgring Nordschleife! This heavily camouflaged prototype is believed to be Land Rover’s upcoming compact Defender, currently unofficially referred to as the Defender Sport. The prototype keeps the familiar upright and boxy Defender styling, including a rear-mounted spare wheel, but packages it into a noticeably smaller SUV. Underneath, the new model is expected to use JLR’s EMA architecture, which was originally developed around electric power and supports an 800-volt electrical system. Reports also suggest that the platform has been adapted to support hybrid powertrains, although Land Rover has not yet confirmed the final engine and battery options. Seeing the Baby Defender testing at the Nürburgring Nordschleife suggests Land Rover is putting plenty of work into its chassis, handling and high-speed development before the model reaches production.
