BEARTOOTH HIGHWAY – Driving America’s Most Beautiful Scenic Drive | 4K

The Beartooth Highway (US-212) is a scenic high-elevation road in Montana and Wyoming which is often called ‘America’s Most Beautiful Drive.’ The Beartooth Highway is known for its dramatic switchbacks, glacial lakes, and alpine tundra, connecting Red Lodge Montana to the Northeast Entrance of Yellowstone. In this video, we are driving north on the Beartooth Highway from Wyoming into Montana. The Beartooth Highway is open seasonally, weather permitting, from the end of May to mid-October. The summit of the drive is a Beartooth Pass, at 10,917 feet, making it the highest paved highway in the Northern Rocky Mountains. The highway travels through both the Shoshone National Forest in Wyoming and the Custer Gallatin National Forest in Montana. The Beartooth Highway was designated as an All-American Road in 2002. Finished in 1936, the highway allows visitors to travel from dense forests to alpine tundra within just a few miles. We traveled the Beartooth highway from Wyoming to Montana, in mid-July of 2025 with beautiful blue skies.
