The Yonghe Palace is located in Dongcheng District, Beijing. It was the first residence of Emperor Yinzhen of the Qing Dynasty, the residence of Emperor Beiler and Prince of the Qing Dynasty, and the place where Emperor Gaozong Hongli of the Qing Dynasty was born and grew up. It was the "hidden residence" of the emperors of the Yong and Qian dynasties. In the 33rd year of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty (1694), Emperor Kangxi built a mansion here and gave it to his four sons, Prince Yong, which was called Prince Yong's Mansion; in the third year of Yongzheng (1725), the royal residence was changed to Xinggong, which was called Yonghe Palace; in the ninth year of Qianlong (1744), Yonghe Palace was changed to Lama Temple, and the prime minister was sent to manage its affairs, and became The Qing government is in charge of the center of Tibetan Buddhism in the country. The Yonghe Palace was a Buddhist temple with the highest specifications in the country in the middle and late Qing Dynasty. In 1961, the Yonghe Palace was announced by the State Council of the People's Republic of China as the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units. The Yonghe Palace is mainly composed of three exquisite archways and five magnificent halls. From the east and west archways with flying eaves and arches to the ancient East and West Shunshan Buildings, it covers a total area of 66,400 square meters and has more than 1,000 halls. The layout of the temple building is complete, and the regulations are in line with the Brahma Temple. An archway stands at the front of the temple, and a road is laid in front of Zhaotai Gate, showing the momentum of the royal edict. There are seven buildings in the front: Zhaotai Gate, Bell Tower, Drum Tower, Yonghe Gate, Yonghe Palace, Lecture Hall, and Tantra Hall. The halls in the back are raised step by step, symbolizing the solemnity and auspiciousness of the Buddha's world. The five Tibetan skylights of "one big and four small" on the top of the Falun Hall of the Great Sutra Hall deeply contain the implication that the Buddhist "Sumi Mountain" is surrounded by four continents. The establishment of the "four major warehouses" of the Temple Hall, the Tantra Hall, the Time Wheel Hall and the Medicine Hall marks that the Yonghe Palace is a complete institution of Tibetan Buddhism. The highest building, Wanfo Pavilion, and the huge "Midara Buddha" standing in the building, imply the holy scene of "the Buddha's birth" and "the heavenly palace". The most important imperial inscription "Lama Says" in the middle of the temple shows the world the basic national policy of the government's participation in the management of religious affairs, and also establishes the foundation for the status of the Yonghe Palace in Kyoto as "the first royal imperial temple" and the Qing government's "center for the management of Tibetan Buddhist affairs". Beijing Yonghe Palace is the largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Beijing.
