In July 2022 we flew the Mooney M20M TLS, D-ETBA, from Gdańsk (EPGD) to Ålesund (ENAL) on the Norwegian west coast, with one fuel stop on the way: Bergen Flesland (ENBR).
The day before, we called the fuel station in Bergen and they confirmed there was fuel. There was – but you needed a special fuel card to get it, and we didn't have one. Within a few hours the whole airport knew about our problem. Everyone was kind, but nothing moved. When the buses came to take us to customs, we said we weren't moving – maybe, by some miracle, we would still get fuel.
After 6–7 hours a young man offered us his own fuel card, and that solved the problem. Faith in people still exists.
Back home I emailed every two days asking for the invoice. It arrived, of course, at the end of the month. A wonderful Norwegian – thank you!
The video shows our descent from 10,000 ft and the final approach and landing at Bergen, filmed from the cockpit, followed by the story at the fuel station. The middle of the approach is sped up 2× (marked on screen).
My comments at the buses are in Polish, with English subtitles. Turn on CC for English subtitles of the narration.
