Night in the smallest mountain hut in Tyrol | Breitenkopfhütte

Part two of the hike in the Mieminger Gebirge, in Tyrol. After spending the night on the summit of the Drachenkopf, I reached the Coburg hut (previous video). From here, I set off again towards the Hinteres Tajatörl pass (2259 m), from where I descend into the Brendlkar. Another climb then awaits me to the Igelsscharte pass; from there, I begin to see the Breitenkopfhütte in the distance, which is known as the smallest mountain hut in Tyrol. At the foot of the vast western face of the Breitenkopf, at 2040 metres, the hut is tucked away beneath a huge rock overhang. Covering an area of 4 by 4 metres, the cosy interior features a wood-burning stove, a table and a well-equipped kitchen on the ground floor, as well as six beds with mattresses and blankets on the upper floor. A DAV key is required to gain access. The following day, I headed down towards the Ehrwalder Alm and then on to the valley station of the Ehrwlader Almbahn. From there, I took the bus first to Ehrwald and then back to Biberwier, where I’d left my car. The hike involved an ascent of around 570 metres, a descent of 1,670 metres and covered a distance of 16 km. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Seconda parte dell'escursione nel Mieminger Gebirge, in Tirolo. Dopo aver dormito sulla cima del Drachenkopf, ho raggiunto il rifugio Coburg (video precedente). Da qui riparto in direzione della forcella Hinteres Tajatörl (2259 m.), da dove scendo nel Brendlkar. Mi aspetta poi un'altra salita alla forcella Igelsscharte, da dopo si inizia a vedere in lontananza la Breitenkopfhütte, che è conosciuto come il rifugio più piccolo del Tirolo. Ai piedi dell’ampia parete occidentale del Breitenkopf, a 2040 m, la struttura si nasconde sotto un’enorme sporgenza rocciosa. Su una superficie di 4 x 4 metri, l’accogliente interno offre una stufa a legna, un tavolo e una cucina ben attrezzata al piano terra, oltre a sei posti letto con materassi e coperte al piano superiore. Per accedervi è necessaria la chiave DAV. Il giorno seguente sono sceso in direzione della Ehrwalder Alm e poi verso la stazione a valle della Ehrwlader Almbahn. Da qui in autobus sono arrivato prima a Ehrwald e poi sono tornato a Biberwier, dove avevo lasciato la macchina.
