Why China and Japan Adopted Hindu Gods? | Hyper Quest Ft. Dr. Shashi Bala

Sanskrit at the Great Wall of China? Saraswati worshipped in Japan? A Buddhist king who takes the Hindu title Rama? Then the harder questions: was crossing the sea really a sin for Hindus, and is that why Buddhism reached everywhere? But then why would other nations adopt Hindu gods? How did India’s knowledge travel this far, and why does the written proof survive in other countries, not here? Dr. Shashi Bala, Dean of the Centre for Indology at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, has spent decades tracing these links across Asia. Watch the conversation to discover what India forgot, and who remembered. ------------------------------------------------------------ About The Guests: Awarded Mongolia’s Order of the Polar Star, one of its highest civilian honours, Dr. Shashi Bala is an Indologist, Dean of the Centre for Indology at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.
