Where is everybody?
Physicist Enrico Fermi asked that question over lunch in 1950. Seventy-five years later, science still has no answer. The galaxy is 13.6 billion years old. It contains 400 billion stars. Billions of planets sit in habitable zones. A single civilization could have colonized every star system millions of years ago. So where are they? Why, after sixty-five years of searching, have we found absolutely nothing?
The answer might be the most terrifying idea in all of science.
This calming long-form space documentary traces the Fermi Paradox from its origins through every major proposed solution - the Drake Equation, the Zoo Hypothesis, the Dark Forest, the Rare Earth theory - and systematically shows why none of them fully work. Then we go where most videos on this topic are afraid to go: the Great Filter. The hypothesis that somewhere between dead rock and starfaring civilization, there is a wall so high that almost nothing gets over it.
We also examine real moments when humanity nearly ended - the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Petrov incident, Able Archer 83. We explore what artificial intelligence means for the future of biological civilizations. And we confront the possibility that the answer to the Fermi Paradox isn't hiding in deep space. It's written into the nature of intelligence itself.
No conspiracy theories. No supernatural explanations. No definitive conclusions. Just the evidence, the hypotheses, and the silence.
