Financial Security for All: Manage Your Money and Avoid Scams Free Resources from FTC

Join speakers from the FTC to learn about free tools to help people manage their money and avoid scams. The session will cover how to spot and avoid common scams and identity theft and ways to incorporate scam prevention resources into your own program. Presented by Kira Krown and Air Lazarus, Federal Trade Commission Kira Krown is a Consumer Education Specialist in the FTC’s Division of Consumer and Business Education. She works on various education and outreach campaigns focused on consumer protection tools and spotting and avoiding frauds, scams, and bad business practices. Prior to joining the FTC, Kira worked on financial inclusion and consumer protection issues at the International Finance Corporation. Ari Lazarus is a Consumer Education Specialist in the FTC’s Division of Consumer and Business Education. He has worked extensively on various education campaigns, including online safety and privacy topics, student loan debt relief scams, among others. Ari’s outreach work focuses on reaching college students and libraries and sharing tips with them on how to avoid frauds and scams. Prior to coming to the FTC, Ari worked in personal financial management. Ari holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor’s Degree from Rutgers University.
