Intelligent Drum n Bass mix

Number 9 - 'Inna Jungle Sunrise' ☀️, and another followup to the ‘jungle’ mixes series (check #6 + #8), focusing selections on that distinct style of drum ’n' bass (some say jungle IS the ‘original’ drum n bass . . .) . . . whatever people say, it’s just 'good music’ imo (& to ‘appease' the jungle police/purists out there - this IS a ‘jungle’ mix :0). Some old, some new, some rare, some not-so-rare across the spectrum tunes all based on that defining jungle ‘character’ --- the ‘amen' drum break :0 (being a drummer - I’m an ultra fan of this break! :0 - See more elaborated notes on this sound in previous mix). Some further explorations of gets termed ‘intelligent’ or ‘atmospheric’ styles with legends of the sound featured, such as Peshay opening the mix (with a tune from which this selection gets it’s name), Carlito (with couple of tunes from his recent new album - long time coming!! Big up Carlito!), a Calibre anthem, a recent curveball from Rowpieces, to one of the ‘newer’ school aficionados of the sound - Aural Imbalance (sooooooo many incredible masterpiece tunes out there from this guy!), some cheeky white label bootlegs (incl a recent revisit/rework of ’THAT’ Sister Nancy junglist anthem - you know the one . . . ), finishing with a London Elek classic (not specifically a ‘jungle’ tune - but fitted the mix theme/title and closing ‘vibe'). Best enjoyed on a road trip. Mission through the stinky city, or a sunrise surf mission - turn it up and enjoy the ride! . . . p.s. the jungle 'ocean' is sooooo deep/never ending with so many sides to it (that’s what makes it ‘endearing') - this is just a small selection from some favs (originally inspired by a certain Nu:Tone mix from a decade ago) + shout outs to the early 2000s DnB/junglist warehouse crew in my city in the late 90s/early 2000s. give a comment or like if you're a junglist for life . . .
