Islander ISL-69 vs Seiko SKX! Can The Islander Baby Turtle Out-Seiko The SKX013? In-Depth Review

Is the 40mm Islander ISL-69 (baby turtle) worth buying over a Seiko SKX013? In this video, I take an in-depth look at the $299 ISL-69 from Marc at Long Island Watches to see how it compares to every SKX (the SKX007, SKX009, and finally the SKX013) and to see what the modding possibilities are. Islander watches became big as a result of the prominent Seiko modding community and Marc started off by offering SKXs with all the upgrades enthusiasts wanted. A sapphire crystal, upgraded movements, drilled lugs, and higher quality bracelets. The line of dive watches expanded to include upgraded versions of other popular Seikos such as the Seiko Turtle and Samurai. However, for me the biggest development was when this ISL-69 (baby turtle) was released because it was the first unique case design from Islander. To keep the spirit of modding, every part of the ISL-69 (bezel, dial, hands, case, bracelet, movement) is completely compatible with all of the aftermarket parts made for the SKX013. This is special because I can finally have a small 40mm Seiko diver with endless modding possibilities to make sure the $299 I spent is stretched as far as possible!
