My journey starts in the Muslim Quarter, where I take the metro and then a bus to reach the Terracotta Army Museum. But once inside, the trip turns into a story about one of the most fascinating rulers in Chinese history: Qin Shi Huang, China’s first emperor. He became king at just 13 years old — and during his reign, an enormous underground army was created to accompany and protect him in the afterlife.
