The original footage is in black and white and is credited to Professor Alan Macfarlane. I have edited, upscaled, and colorized the footage for this presentation. Note: The colorization is not intended to represent historically accurate colors. It has been added mainly for ambiance and a more immersive viewing experience. The additional sound effects are also ambient only and are not the original sounds recorded with the footage. This video is presented for educational and historical purposes, offering a rare glimpse into Kathmandu as it looked around six decades ago.
