Athens Metro: Hyundai-Rotem (3rd generation train) ride

Τον Σεπτέμβριο του 2009 υπεγράφη σύμβαση από την ΣΤΑΣΥ/Αττικό Μετρό ΑΕ για 17 νέους συρμούς 3ης γενιάς, κατασκευασμένους από την Hyundai-Rotem. Οι παραδόσεις ξεκίνησαν μεταξύ 2012-2013 και οι συρμοί ξεκίνησαν να λειτουργούν το 2014. Η 3η γενιά ήταν ουσιαστικά η τελευταία μεγάλη παραγγελία νέων συρμών για τις γραμμές 2 και 3 του μετρό της Αθήνας. Υπήρξαν οι πρώτοι συρμοί με διαφορετικό χρωματισμό (άσπρο-πράσινο) αντί για το κλασικό inox/γκρι-πορτοκαλί, καθώς και οι πιο τεχνολογικά εξελιγμένοι μέχρι στιγμής με LCD οθόνες, ηλεκτρονικούς χάρτες και κλειστό κύκλωμα τηλεόρασης (CCTV). In September 2009, a contract was signed by STASY/Attiko Metro S.A. for 17 new 3rd generation metro trains, manufactured by Hyundai-Rotem. Deliveries began in 2012-2013, with the trains entering passenger service in 2014. The 3rd generation was essentially the last major order of new trains for Athens Metro Lines 2 and 3. They were the first trains to feature a different livery (white and light green), replacing the classic inox/grey-orange appearance of the previous trains, and were also the most technologically advanced trains at the time, featuring LCD screens, electronic maps and a CCTV system throughout the train.
