Meet Laura Sirot, candidate for Ohio Senate District 31 which includes Wayne, Tuscarawas, Muskingum and parts of Stark and Guernsey counties, and is currently represented by Republican Senator Al Landis. Laura Sirot lives in Wooster, Ohio, where she is Professor of Biology at The College of Wooster. Her research mainly relates to understanding the reproductive biology of insect vectors of human pathogens and agricultural pests. In addition to her job and her family, Laura is very involved in her local community in the areas of children and family services, sustainability, animal rescue, and science communication. The urgency of the issues facing Ohio has motivated her to run for State Senate in District 31 in 2026.
