National Park Service body-camera recordings show the August 12, 2021 Moab stop involving Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie. This edit follows their separate accounts, the officers' decisions, and a later finding about the original 911 caller. Primary footage: National Park Service, released March 18, 2024. Review: City of Moab statement and independent investigative report. Later outcome: FBI Denver, January 21, 2022. Map: © OpenStreetMap contributors Edited for length. The opening juxtaposes two clearly labeled later excerpts: an officer recounting the dispatch report and an officer’s assessment of the primary aggressor. It then returns to the beginning of the stop. It is not the original 911 recording. Time omissions within conversations are labeled. Separate camera conversations are grouped and labeled; camera changes do not imply exact synchronization. Agency redactions remain. Captions are condensed in some fast passages for readability and are not a verbatim legal transcript; unclear audio is marked. On-scene statements are attributed accounts, not findings by this channel. The ending distinguishes the August 12 stop from the later discovery and investigation. It includes the FBI’s finding about written statements in Brian’s notebook claiming responsibility. There was no murder trial. The independent review did not establish that a different response would have prevented Gabby’s death. Later facts are presented over clearly labeled archival bodycam images. The FBI findings are investigative conclusions, not a trial verdict. #BodycamCasefile #GabbyPetito #Moab #Bodycam #PublicRecords
