Taj Hovercraft Challenge & Sherbet Island - Diddy Kong Racing Adventure 2

Welcome to my walkthrough series of Diddy Kong Racing! In this playthrough, I will cover the gameplay of all the worlds in Diddy Kong Racing (including Adventure 2): Dino Domain, Snowflake Mountain, Sherbet Island, Dragon Forest, Future Fun Land and the Final Boss: Wizpig. I really hope you enjoy this Diddy Kong Racing no commentary series. 📝 Diddy Kong Racing is a kart racing game for the Nintendo 64; released in 1997 it became the fastest selling video game of all time, selling 800,000 copies in two weeks. The game is Rareware's take on the ever popular kart racing genre, popularised by Super Mario Kart on the SNES, and includes a number of Rare's signature characters. What sets it apart from the traditional kart racer is its adventure mode, where players drive, hover or fly through a series of worlds, unlocking subsequent courses as they complete those prior. The game features twenty racing tracks, four battle arenas and a number of boss challenges whereby the player must beat a single island denizen in a one-on-one race. The player has to race Taj, who rides a flying carpet. The racetrack is marked with red flags showing the Nintendo 64 logo and the player has to follow them. If they leave the set track, they will be disqualified. After Taj is beaten, he will reward the player with another Golden Balloon. There are three different challenges and each of them can be repeated at any time after they have been unlocked (the player will only obtain one Golden Balloon per challenge however). Hovercraft Challenge is the second of Taj's races and is a tad harder than the Car Challenge. The track is mostly in water and begins next to the bridge which leads to Dino Domain. In the race the player will hover into a waterfall that is on the far east of the river. Here, they will be in a cave leading to Snowflake Mountain and eventually fall down two small waterfalls taking them to the ocean. Going east will take the player back on shore where they need to go through a small tunnel leading to the finish line. 👉🏽 Sherbet Island is one of the worlds in Diddy Kong Racing and its remake, Diddy Kong Racing DS. It serves as one of the worlds, and can be accessed once the player acquired ten Golden Balloons. The door that leads to this world can be found on a small island at the beach side of Timber Island. The courses of Sherbet Island feature beach and pirate-themed tracks, with many sandbanks, palm trees, ship wrecks, and bays. Many courses involve water in some way. The boss of Sherbet Island is Bubbler the Octopus. ✅ Whale Bay is the first race course of Sherbet Island in Diddy Kong Racing and its remake, Diddy Kong Racing DS. Players can only race in the course using Hovercrafts. The player must have at least 10 Golden Balloons to enter the race, and 17 for its Silver Coin Challenge (or Balloon Touch Challenge in the Nintendo DS version). ✅ Crescent Island is the second course of Sherbet Island in Diddy Kong Racing and its remake, Diddy Kong Racing DS. ✅ Pirate Lagoon is a racetrack in the Sherbet Island area of Timber Island, found in the games Diddy Kong Racing and its remake, Diddy Kong Racing DS. This track requires all racers to use hovercrafts, as it takes place mostly on water. It also features a long tunnel near the beginning, which consists of one sharp turn at its entrance. Besides that, the level's main obstacles are its many twists and turns, which racers must try not to speed around if they do not want to lose control. There is also ramp near the end of the track to skip driving around a wall. ✅ Treasure Caves is a course in the Sherbet Island area of Timber Island. It is featured in Diddy Kong Racing and its Nintendo DS remake, Diddy Kong Racing DS. The course can be driven in on all three vehicles: The car, the hovercraft, and the plane. Being one of the later tracks encountered, it requires sixteen Gold Balloons to enter, or 22 for the Silver Coin Challenge (or Balloon Touch Challenge in the remake).
