One day, while Fatemeh was busy cleaning the house, Hamzeh’s second wife arrived and told her she needed to go and sign a consent form so Hamzeh could be released from prison. Fatemeh refused, stating that she would not grant consent because Hamzeh had mistreated her so badly. She asked, "Since you treat me like a servant, why should I do anything for you?" Fatemeh then demanded that the house deed be transferred to her name. Hamzeh’s mother refused, saying, "I won't do that. Hamzeh must grant his consent first; only then will I put the deed in your name. Go get him released, and afterwards, I’ll ask him whether or not I should transfer the property to you."
